Return Policy

Our goal at Photography By Paul Smith is your complete satisfaction with your purchase. You have 30 days to file a return form from the date of delivery to your door.

Photo Shoots

In the case of camera failure, inclement weather, or any other unforeseen incident that prevents Photography By Paul Smith from shooting on a scheduled date the client will get a full refund of their deposit if applicable. No refund will be given under any circumstances if you fail to attend the activity on the day and at the time listed, when the booking was made.

Purchase of Prints

Due to the nature of digital photography and the fact that photographs/prints, once sent, cannot be returned; Photography By Paul Smith has a strict REFUND POLICY. Once a transaction has been completed (i.e., the buyer selected and paid for the photo/print and then Photography By Paul Smith shipped the buyer the correct photograph/print) it is then considered non-refundable unless damaged in transit (see below).

If a buyer has accidently selected and purchased an incorrect photo/print, he/she must notify Photography By Paul Smith, before receiving the “incorrect” photograph/print. Refunds will NOT be given due to “not liking a photo/print”, accidently selecting an incorrect photo/print after the buyer has already received the photograph/print, or any other reason.

If a mistaken photo/print is sent to the buyer, as documented on the invoice, Photography By Paul Smith will send the correct photo/print free of charge along with a digital/hardcopy request to agree to a license forbidding use of the mistaken photo/print sent originally to the buyer. This license will be kept in our database to protect the copyrights of Photography By Paul Smith. If the buyer decides not to sign the release license and return it, than the buyer is required to return the original print at his/her expense. Failure to do so will result in legal action.

Damage To Print

The one exception to the return policy is if your print arrives damaged in transit we will refund your money not including shipping or resend your print at our expense.  You must send a photo of the damage to the packaging and/or print before we start the refund process.  You must also send at your expense the print and original packaging back to us for inspection and to confirm said damage.  This will allow us to contact our shipper and ensure this doesn't happen again. Failure to return damaged print will result in NO REFUND.

Refund/Exchange Policy for Custom Albums and Photo Books

Due to the custom pre-designed nature of these services, there are no refunds on any design order. Albums ordered are considered a custom product and therefore there are no refunds on any album orders. Flush Mount and Coffee Table Books are made to order and cannot be returned or exchanged unless:

  •     a manufacturer defect is evident and reported within 48 hours (2 business days) from the date it was received,
  •     damaged during shipping (a separate claim must be filed with the shipping carrier and also must be reported within 48 hours after being received),
  •     or in the even that the order was erroneously processed such as an error was made on the size of the book or color/style, compared to the original recorded order.

Policies

All photos/prints and products are subject to your provincial/state sales tax and shipping when applicable. Due to the nature of custom photography, all sales are final. Photography By Paul Smith does, of course guarantee that the photos/prints you receive meet the highest standards in every respect and works with the customer to approve designs and custom work before orders are placed.

Payment of orders is due in full when the order is placed. Photos/Prints and products arrive 4-6 weeks (Canada only) after payment is received. Albums take approximately 10 weeks as they are custom designed and hand made. US orders may take longer depending on customs and distance to your location.

Rush shipment is available on some items for an additional charge. All rates are subject to change at any time. In the interest of fairness to all customers, all rates are non-negotiable unless booked through a special promotion. Shipping is through Canada Post unless customer chooses custom shipping by using our contact form before placing order.
