Wild Salal Berries

A few years ago we had a serious drought issue on Vancouver Island and like the canary in the coal mine our wild Salal bush is an indicator of how bad it really is.  I noticed a lot of Salal plants dieing on the island and decided to shoot some photos to document what I was seeing.  This one kind of struck a chord with me on how pretty they are when full of berries which are edible also. I delibertly made the berries blurry to add a pastel look to the image.
