Moat Lake

Back when I was younger, I went hiking with my dad and a close friend to Moat Lake.  The lake was a lot harder to get to then as we had to hike in from Forbidden Plateau. Now you can access it from Mount Washington which has upgraded all the trails so even inexperienced hikers can gain access to the back country.

When I came along the ridge between the Cruikshank River valley and Moat Lake I was awestruck by the beauty of the lake and especially the cabins that seemed to look like they belong instead of being an eyesore.

I even went inside and signed the guest book and was impressed by the workmanship that obviously went into building them.  I took some photos and we spent the night before hiking back out.
