Antler Lake6
One of the first photographs I took with my Nikon D7100 was of Antler Lake. This image was shot while leaning against a fir tree for support because I forgot my tripod. It was a beautiful sunny day with a fresh light dusting of snow on the mountain peaks behind the lake. I shot in a vertical format to get all of the reflection and have the day use area a little more pronounced so all could see it.
I decided to bracket my shots to see how it turned out with different settings. I started on auto and eventually proceeded to this shot which was 1/250 at f8. I also got some very nice horizontal shots which turned out great also. You will see them in other areas of my online gallery.
Antler Lake is one of my favorite places to take photographs because of the beauty of the area including a trail loop through old growth forest that never seems to amaze me with its array of photo opportunities.
This photo looks good printed at 24x36 with a glossy white double mat and black frame as witnessed hanging in the Courtenay White Spot who has purchased a lot of my work.
