Antler Lake Beaver
After buying my Nikon D7100, I decided to take it down to Antler Lake to see how it would shoot on auto. I came across a beaver swimming back and forth near the bottom end of the lake and decided to set up my tripod. After taking a few shots in auto and then trying a few with aperture priority and shutter priority the beaver became either annoyed or intrigued as he/she began to swim closer to the beach where I was standing.
Knowing that beavers can be aggressive I decided to move back a bit to see if he/she would change his/her pattern. Much to my surprise he/she came out of the water and started up towards my tripod. I've been chased by beavers before so instead of taking a chance and shoot some close ups I decided to grab my gear and leave the area. I spent the rest of the day shooting from another vantage point on the lake.
I later discovered his/her lodge about 100 yards away from my original point where I was shooting photos so I guess he/she was being protective of the lodge and surrounding area. This photo seems to be the most popular one amongst my gallery clients so I decided to place it online as well. Enjoy.
